Election Time

While driving around we notice that signs supporting candidates are starting to appear in yards, and we see notices that appear in our newspapers.

Candidates are gearing up for the upcoming primary election. Voters are making up their minds about which candidate they wish to support.

All of this activity is in anticipation of the Burnet County Democratic and Republican Primary Elections that are scheduled for March 1, 2022.

Market Day on Saturday

The first of the Briggs Community Center Market Days is scheduled for Saturday, January 22. The time is 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

These market days will occur on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. Anyone wishing to be a vender will be able to secure at booth for $10.

Yoga

If early morning exercise is one of the New Year’s resolutions you have made, then you might be interested in the Yoga sessions at the Oakalla Community Center. The time is Friday morning at 8 a.m. One need only bring a mat, a bottle of water and a small donation for the instructor.

Dutch Oven Cookoff The annual Dutch Oven

The annual Dutch Oven Cookoff at the Oakalla Library will be held on the first Saturday in February. This event provides good food and good fellowship and it’s time make plans for what to cook or if you wish to make a donation. More information will be available in future columns.
