The Central Texas Groundwater Conservation District Board will hold a public hearing 9 a.m. Jan. 25 in Burnet at the district office, 225 South Pierce, suite 104.

Board officials plan to discuss permit amendments for the city of Bertram water supply and the Capitol Aggregates quarry operation.

Bertram has requested an additional 426 acre feet for a total of more than 792 acre feet per year.

Capitol Aggregates has requested an additional 238 acre feet for a total of more than 582 acre feet per year.

Also during the meeting, officials plan to discuss the Texas Winery Owners Group request to remove one irrigation well in Burnet at 1411 CR 119 and replace the well with a new well for irrigation.

Recently, district General Manager Mitchell Sodek recommended the board approve all three amendments.

Board members are expected to continue the critical stage 4 drought mandatory water use reduction of 15% invoked last month.
