Hill Country residents on their way to work had to steer clear of a traffic acci dent which happened on a Friday morning in the heart of Burnet.

About 7:30 a.m. March 1, the Texas Department of Public Safety dispatched one of its troopers to respond to one vehicle crash in Blanco County.

The accident in Burnet occurred as the trooper drove in transit to the crash site in Blanco, according to Sgt. Deon Cockrell, DPS media representative.

“The trooper was traveling west on Texas 29 toward U.S. 281 with overhead red and blue emergency lights and siren activated,” Cockrell told the Bulletin.

Apparently, the DPS vehicle was rolling on Texas 29 at the Pierce Street intersection when the accident occurred.

“The DPS vehicle struck a utility truck while traveling through the intersection,” Cockrell said.

The public may find a copy of the crash report and read more information once the investigation is complete, he added.

When available, more details related to the Burnet accident can be found at state.tx.us through the TxDOT crash report purchase portal, Cockrell said.
