John Henry Bray Sept. 25, 1929 ~ Jan. 7, 2013
John "Johnny” Henry Bray, 83, of Kingsland, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 7. He was born to the late Henry Carl Bray and Cloteal Pierce Bray on Sept. 25, 1929 in McCurtain, Okla.
At a young age he joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in San Antonio. During that time, he met the love of his life for 63 years, Betty Jo Jackson. A few years later they settled in Marble Falls with their two children and built their own flooring business, Johnny’s Floors. Although no longer owners of the business, Johnny’s Floors is still going strong to this day.
Bray lived his life to fullest spending the majority of his time fishing, playing music and entertaining loved ones at their house on Lake LBJ. When not home, he and Betty spent their days and nights traveling across the United States in their custom motor coach, meeting many great friends along the way.
Bray loved his wife, family and friends with all his heart. If you ever got to spend time with him you were either learning something or having the time of you life. He did not know a stranger.
Bray is survived by wife Betty Bray; daughter Peggy Thurman; son Joe and wife Debbie Bray; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and sisters Marjorie and husband Jerry Cox, Delores Stimpert, Katie and husband Chuck Putney, and Mary Jo Bray.
Visitation will be held at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls on Friday, Jan. 11 from 5-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 10:30 a.m. with Brother Max Copeland officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park.
Arrangements made by Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls.
