Resort owner in bankruptcy; needs job

Perhaps Matagorda County Judge Nate McDonald, who last month decried the fact that his constituents in the Colorado River lower basin are unfairly bearing the burden of the terrible effects of a record-breaking drought, might want to touch base with Rusty Brandon.
He will be easy to find.
He’s the guy that will be closing down his cherished Hi-Line Resort on the west side of Lake Buchanan up in Tow village.
McDonald might have to make an appointment, however, because in addition to dealing with the ramifications of bankruptcy and foreclosure, which include turning over the resort’s assorted fixtures, facilities and equipment to the bank, Brandon needs to spend some time looking for a job.
"We’re in the process of filing for bankruptcy,” Brandon acknowledged recently. "We bought the place in 2002, 11 years ago come June.
