Take care when hiring workers to fix damages

In the wake of a hailstorm that damaged thousands of homes and businesses in the Hill Country, residents seeking repairs must be watchful of the less than reputable repair operations.
In cases where there is widespread damage, many contractors, most reputable, some disreputable, will converge on areas where residents are in need of auto and home repairs.
"Storm chasers go to areas hit by storms and go door to door,” said Mark Hanna, the spokesman for the Insurance Council of Texas. "The homeowner has no idea if they’re reputable or not. You won’t know if they will stay on the job, or if you have problems with the roof a year later, where they’re to be found.”
