Race not help to Main Street businesses

The HITS triathlon brought more than runners, swimmers and bicyclists to town this weekend. It brought in some business to hotels and a few restaurants but brought a weekend sales slump to several others.
The businesses that took the biggest hit seemed to be those located close to the Marble Falls bridge and Main Street which was being used as a bypass to snarled traffic on US 281. People were driving through but not stopping to shop, making the area very difficult for anyone to access.
Marble Falls Flower and Gift owners Jeanine and David Christian said they received more complaints and directional inquiries than business this weekend and their neighbors had similar complaints.
