2 Burnet escapees arrested in Lampasas

Two inmates from the Intermediate Sanction Facility in Burnet escaped early Saturday but were apprehended in Lampasas Saturday afternoon, Burnet police reported.
Burnet Police Department responded to the Intermediate Sanction Facility around 8:45 a.m. Saturday in reference to two inmates that had escaped. Burnet Police Department determined that the pair had actually left the facility around 7:30 a.m. by watching the surveillance cameras at the facility, and interviewing other inmates inside the facility.
While investigating the escape, Burnet Police received a report of a stolen pickup truck that had occurred around 9:45 a.m., and the stolen truck was traveling northbound on US 281. Burnet Police notified Lampasas County Sheriff’s Department and Lampasas Police Department.
Lampasas police located the stolen truck and was able to stop the vehicle and apprehend the two escapees inside without incident.
Burnet police identified the pair as Charles Edwards IV, 18 from Kempner in Lampasas County and, James Williams, 18, from Graham in Young County.
Both were booked into the Burnet County Jail for Unauthorized Absence from Community Correction Facility which is a State Jail Felony and also for Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle which is also a State Jail Felony.
