Parade of Homes Tour expands in new partnershipOctober 15, 2012, 9:00 pm by Adam Troxtell
The annual Parade of Homes has effectively doubled in size this year and will include 16 viewable homes starting this weekend thanks to a partnership between two main Hill Country home builders associations. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 19-21 and again on Oct. 26-28, the public will be able to tour homes from Burnet to Kerrville for a one-time price of $10 per ticket. The Building Industry Association of the Highland Lakes (BIA) are partnering with the Hill Country Home Builders Association (HCHBA) from the Fredericksburg and Kerrville area for a wider range of homes. "Essentially two different Hill Country organizations have combined their market places into one big tour,” said Jayne Mortensen, Executive Director of both associations. "People who buy tickets get to see the north and south Hill Country home markets all for the same price.” Tickets are available at the BIA headquarters at 1401 Broadway in Marble Falls, at the HCHBA headquarters at 1444 Sidney Baker St. in Kerrville, at any of the American Bank of Texas locations in Marble Falls, Kingsland, Horseshoe Bay, Fredericksburg or Kerrville, and at each of the homes on the tour. Parade of Homes guides will be published in Wednesday’s edition of the Burnet Bulletin and Llano County Journal and with Friday’s Highlander. The guidebooks and other materials will be available at the two association offices in Marble Falls and Kerrville as well as at the homes on the tour. Information is also available online at bia-highlandlakes.com and hillcountrybuilders.org.
