Buchanan Dam man killed by troopers after three-hour standoff

October 30, 2012, 6:00 pm by Frank Graham

A Buchanan Dam man was shot and killed Monday by Texas Department of Public Safety troopers after a three-hour standoff at his home.

William Charles Lipscombe, 49, was shot after he pointed his gun at officers in the yard of a house in the 100 block of Senisa Court, according to a DPS spokesman. The troopers ordered the man to drop his weapon but he instead raised it, the spokesman said. He died at the scene.

The Texas Rangers are investigating the incident, the spokesman said.
