Election includes city council as well as presidential vote

The four-way race among former council member Pat Riddell, Mary Jane Shanes, Michelle Devaney and George Banks offers an opportunity for voters to add more Delaware Springs Subdivision muscle to the city’s governing body or, conversely, to send a message that the affluent community already has enough representation on the council.

Four of the six current city council members are Delaware Springs residents and the election of Devaney or Riddell to fill the unexpired term of former councilman Kevin Davis would further strengthen the subdivision’s hold on the decision-making powers for the city.
