Seton lab technician beats breast cancer ... twice
Seton Highland Lakes Medical Laboratory Scientist Jodi Nikorak has survived two bouts with breast cancer.

Jodi Nikorak’s smile lights up a room. Her optimistic spirit is contagious and the sparkle in her eye shows her zeal for life. And it’s her positive outlook on life that helped her beat breast cancer.

Twice.

Jodi, a Seton Highland Lakes Medical Laboratory Scientist, had her first breast cancer occurrence in 2003. After she felt a pea-size lump during her monthly breast self-examination, she quickly called her physician to get her mammogram scheduled. The mammogram indicated a questionable area, and her physician referred her to a breast surgeon. A stereotactic biopsy was performed when results from a biopsy performed in the office were inconclusive. Within days she received a diagnosis: Stage One Cancer.
