Burnet man remains hospitalized with injuries suffered in Friday wreck

Brandon McCord was transported by ambulance to Seton Medical Center Williamson County when the car he was driving was struck broadside by a Jeep Wrangler driven by a 51-year-old Val Verde man.
The 2012 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Michael Knuffke, was traveling north on US 281 and failed to stop at a red signal light, striking the 2010 Mazda driven by McCord, who was turning onto the highway from FM 963.
Knuffke and his 14-year-old son, who was riding in the passenger seat, were transported to Seton Highland Lakes Hospital in Burnet, as was Jennifer Rubio, 19, of Burnet, who was a passenger in the car driven by McCord.
All were treated for minor injuries and released, Burnet Police Chief Paul Nelson said.
Foggy conditions at the time of the accident, which occurred at about 8:20 a.m., caused decreased visibility, said Nelson, who also said the investigation into the accident is continuing.
