Christmas on Square, ‘Bethlehem’ welcome visitors this weekend

December 04, 2012, 9:00 pm by James Walker

Burnet’s Christmas gets into full swing this weekend with the first three days of the Main Street Bethlehem reenactment of the birth of Jesus and Saturday’s Christmas on the Square celebration.

The Main Street Bethlehem event, sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Burnet for the 19th consecutive year, will again consist of six reenactment performances over the next two weekends.

Performances will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday and Dec. 14-16.

The event regularly draws in excess of 25,000 people for the six performances.

The reenactment site is at 108 S. Vanderveer, two blocks east of the historic Burnet Town Square.

Admission is free with donations accepted and tour buses are welcome.

Refreshments will be served at the exit and visitors may find the wait in line to be shorter on Friday and Sunday evenings.
