Reader’s Choice voter nets $50

Burnet resident Clyde Pafford is the first winner of the Burnet Bulletin Reader’s Choice Award weekly drawing, pocketing $50.

"Woo-Wee,” Pafford said upon being notified that he had won.

Pafford is retired from PEC where he worked as an equipment operator from 1972 to 1998.

Pafford now works part-time at Napa Auto Parts in Burnet as a delivery driver. He was born in Burnet in 1944 at the Allen clinic, which ironically sat right where Napa is located.

When asked about how long he had been voting in the Reader’s Choice contest, Pafford said, "Ever since I was old enough to vote.”

You do not have to enter the contest or provide your name and contact information to vote in the annual fun contest to recognize exceptional businesses and individuals in the community.

Just return the Ballot on page 8-A of today’s paper to the Burnet Bulletin, PO Box 160, Burnet, by Jan. 7, 2013 at 5 p.m.

But to be eligible for next week’s cash prize of $50, complete at least half of the ballot and the entry box in the lower right corner with all information so we can contact you if you’re the winner.

To encourage readers to get their votes in early for the 14th annual awards, the amount of the cash prize will be reduced after the next drawing.
