Cowan gets 15 years in assault

A 42-year-old Burnet woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for influencing her son to shoot another woman in 2009.

Linda Sue Cowan was convicted in 424^th District Judge Dan Mills’ court on Feb. 27 of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Cowan’s son, 22-year-old Vinson Cowan, is scheduled to go on trial March 22 for shooting a Deer Springs subdivision woman Dec. 18, 2009.
