The 8th Annual Elder Care Fair is set to take place on Saturday, April 6 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Boys and Girls Club of Marble Falls at 1701 Broadway Street.
Hosted by the Highland Lakes Health Partnership, the purpose of the fair is to introduce products, equipment and services available in the Highland Lakes for elderly and their caregivers. The event will feature over 75 booths, and the partnership is still taking booth reservations.
"We expect a lot more vendors to sign up,” said HLHP Board Secretary Kathy Fletcher during a meeting on Tuesday. "They’ll come trickling in until the last minute. We always make it work. It will be a fantastic event.”
Fletcher related to the board that vendors sought the networking opportunities at the event, and that there would be an hour-long radio show on the morning of the fair to remind people to come.
The Burnet Bulletinand sister papers The Highlanderand The Llano County Journal will distribute a special section - 2013 Highland Lakes Health & Medicine - that will include a map and booth locations for the fair both in editions before the event and to be given out at the fair.
"Our 2012 event welcomed more than 800 participants," Fletcher said. "Approximately $15, 000 worth of free health screenings were performed."
