Castleberry residents oppose permit parking; signs okay

A three-part city ordinance drafted by Bertram officials to ease traffic concerns for residents in the Castleberry Court subdivision received overwhelming disapproval Tuesday from homeowners who attended the city’s regular council meeting.
City officials have
discussed several solutions in the last few months since residents complained
commercial truck traffic and restaurant parking overflow at the entrance to
their subdivision is creating hazards in their neighborhood.
"For me, personally, I don’t like it,” Castleberry homeowner Jim Mole told the council. "The issue was never about parking in the cul-de-sac.”
Mole’s sentiment was overwhelmingly supported by the five out of eight homeowners in attendance, who continued to voice their objections.
