For the 10th straight year, generous citizens from throughout the Highland Lakes region will gather Friday and Saturday to raise funds for the Seton Kids Care-a-Van pediatric mobile health van.
The Kids Care-a-Van is operated by Seton Highland Lakes Hospitaland brings health care services to children in Burnet and Llano counties and is a specially equipped recreational vehicle featuring exam rooms and an immunization area.
The fundraiser consists of a Tailgate Party, which will be Friday night with more than 600 people in attendance and the Emory Bellard-Spike Dykes Golf Classic Saturday at Delaware Springs Golf Course with more than 220 golfers expected.
The two events raised more than $200,000 last year, organizers reported.
In the past nine years, the event has raised more than $1.6 million.
At the tailgate event, items such as golf trips, vacation packages, art and sports memorabilia are sold at a live auction and many other items will be available in a silent auction.
