Bertram hosts special meeting about EMS substation

The City of Bertram will host a special meeting Tuesday night to discuss how to provide a new building for the Burnet EMS Substation.
The building at 225 East Street in Bertram that had formerly housed the substation and EMS personnel may have mold issues.
While Bertram Mayor Dickie Allen said that there had been no test done on the building yet, the EMS personnel do not feel comfortable in the building.
"In our contract we are supposed to furnish them a building,” Allen said. "Our options now are to rent one or build one.”
The Burnet EMS Substation personnel are currently stationed
at the Bertram Volunteer Fire Department hall across the street from the City
Hall on West Vaughan Street, where they have been since concerns were raised on
