A Burnet man was arrested on New Years Eve on charges of aggravated sexual assault after a witness and victim reported the alleged assault to Burnet police.
Stevie Ray Perez, 22, was arrested on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first degree felony, and was booked into Burnet County Jail on Tuesday, Dec. 31 after a witness and the victim, a 13-year-old girl, reported the incident to authorities. He was released on Thursday, Jan. 2 on bond of $100,000.
The arrest affidavit states that on Dec. 14, Perez, who reportedly visited a Burnet home repeatedly to visit the victim’s mother, arrived at the home with the witness while the victim was home alone.
"(The victim) stated that she put the dog into the back yard and was returning inside the residence when Perez grabbed her by the arm and pulled her into her guardian’s room,” the affidavit alleges.
