Under both the contract Burnet County has with LaSalle SW Corrections and a number of State and County statutes the County Sheriff has responsibility for the Jail. WT Smith has continually refused to acknowledge that fact or take any responsibility for the jail breaks by hardened criminals. Yesterday before the Commissioners Court he try to deflect his responsibility rather than just saying "it's not my job" but that is all. Sheriff Smith - it's time to protect the citizens of Burnet County not make excuses! Period.

once again Ms. Klaeger deflects criticism away from any negativity placed at the commisioners feet. She is all for going after other issues that dont concern the Commisioners Court, when it suits her politically. She has one thing to worry about, herself, not the public.
