Dr. Marsha Farney is making a big effort to convince Burnet County citizens they will be near and dear to her heart when she becomes their state representative next year.

Burnet County residents had grown comfortable with Jimmie Don Aycock of Killeen as their representative and there has been apprehension about whether Farney will be as attentive to their needs and issues as they have come to expect.

That’s one of the reasons Farney spent the day Wednesday in Burnet County.

She began the day with a breakfast at Bertram’s Joann Cole Mitte Memorial Library and ended it with a reception in Marble Falls at the Lakeside Pavilion where she also took part in a County Commissioners-sponsored water issues meeting.

In between, Farney spoke at the Burnet Rotary Club’s weekly luncheon and met for more than an hour with Highland Lakes Newspapers editors and reporters.

"I love this county and the people who live here and I want to make sure they understand I intend to give them the very best representation I possibly can,” Farney said several times during the day.
