Volleyball girls open district strong

October 02, 2012, 11:59 pm by Wayne Craig

Burnet’s varsity Lady Bulldogs have been working hard and continuing to fight and that determination has been paying off.

Last week the girls in green opened district play with a three game sweep of Lampasas and they backed up that success last Tuesday.

Burnet traveled to Brownwood for their fourth straight game on the road. The Lady Dawgs once again took care of business in the fastest way possible with a three game sweep of the Lady Lions, 25-19, 25-18, 25-16.

Riley Scott produced the most digs against Brownwood with nine, while Jalee Hill added seven.

Scott, Sarah Poe, and Cassidy Connolly each contributed one block.

Aces were scored by Mariah Qualls and Hill with three each.

Danielle Lindley set-up 18 assists and Connolly and Taryn Rosow took advantage of those with a combined 13 kills for Burnet.
