Seventh-grade Green

The seventh-grade Green Team traveled to Gatesville to take on the Hornets Thursday, Oct 18. After a very fast game due to a running clock, Burnet pulled away with a 8-0 victory. Highlights of the game included Quentin Beutow and Zach Miller doing a great job running the ball. Both backs had a couple of long runs to help the offense move the chains in crucial moments of the game. Beutow had one rushing TD.
From the wide receiver positions Noe Martinez had a couple great runs, two of which came for big first downs. Tanner Abbot had a couple catches for 11-yards. Ty Riley had a couple great catches, one of which was for a two-point conversion score, and Kody Beall had a great run on a reverse at the end of the game.
The offensive line had one of their best games of the season against the Hornets. It was a great job by Colby Rogers, Conner Blake, Rajiv Patel, Levi Patterson, and Jalen Huggins to allow the Bullpups to move down the field. QB's- Reid Burton and Colton Dudley did a very good job on leading the offense down the field.

Defense- For only being on the field for two drives, the Bullpups held their own by allowing zero points in the game. It was a great job and great effort by the entire defense. They left it all on the field and did everything they needed to do to keep the Bullpups in the game. The Green team is now 3-1 and 1-1 in district.
Seventh-grade White
The Burnet seventh-grade White Team was involved in a very exciting back and forth football game against Gatesville on Thursday and in the end they were able to hold off the Gatesville team with a 41-34 victory. The offensive line which included; Ellett Vann, Frankie Gutierrez, Caden Floyd, Dillon Hinds, and Charles Guthrie had a great game and gave Tyler Torres and Ian Carter the opportunity to run wild. Reid Dalrymple ended up having 80 -yards passing with the one long TD pass to Torres. Receivers Clayton Hinckley, Cole Younger and Alex Thomas also had a very good game blocking on the outside.

The Burnet defense had some problems stopping the big plays but they did what they needed to do to get a big turnover at the end of the game to solidify a big win. The defense was backed by great play from both inside linebackers Caden Floyd and Spencer Still. Floyd ended the game with eight tackles, two which were for a loss. Still had seven tackles, one for a loss and a fumble recovery at the end of the game which he returned for 25-yards and was tackled at the Gatesville 10-yard line.
