JV wins big in opener

The JV Bulldog football team opened their 2013 season with a bang, quite literally.
The Dawgs kicked-off to Fredericksburg and Mason Campbell put a hard lick on the return man causing a fumble that he also recovered giving Burnet quick possession at the Billie’s 27-yard line.
With just 16-second off the first quarter clock, on the Dawgs very first offensive snap, Austin Moore connected with Wesley Shackelford for a touchdown. After Alex Melvin’s PAT Burnet led 7-0.
It seemed that the defense couldn’t wait to flex their muscles and thanks to the combined efforts of Wyatt Shepperd, Gabe Tercero, Keedrik Hill, Trent Rockafellow, and Campbell the Billies were forced three and out.
Burnet increased their lead to 14-0 on their next possession with a couple of passes from Moore to Shackelford and Joel Johnson, along with a healthy dose of running by Hill.
