Ellis Wayne Britton Dec. 18, 1937 ~ Oct. 2, 2012

Ellis Wayne Britton, 74, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at his home in Burnet on Oct. 2. Britton was born on Dec. 18, 1937 in Lorraine, Texas, to Hoyt and Rachel Price Britton, and graduated from high school in Stanton, Texas. He married Janelle Jones in Stanton on June 28, 1958.
Ellis was preceded in death by his parents and his adored grandson Jaison Dane Braulick. He is survived by wife Janelle Britton of Burnet; son James Hoyt Britton and wife Tracey; daughter Juli Wehmeyer and husband Robert of Austin; sister Judith Havins and husband William of Pleasanton, Texas; grandchildren Dylan, Lauren, Britoon and Chandler; and several treasured nieces and nephews.
Britton’s life will be remembered for his amazing sense of humor, quick wit, elaborate storytelling abilities, passion for sports and most importantly his unconditional love for his family.
A memorial service to honor Ellis was held on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist
Church, 301 E. Graves St., Burnet. Another service will be performed on Friday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery pavilion in Stanton.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations be made in Ellis’s memory to the American Cancer Society, Friends of Hospice, 209 Fox Crossing, Burnet, Texas 78611 or First Methodist Church, 301 E. Graves St., Burnet, Texas 78611
