Norma Jean Sheppard, 88, of Marble Falls and Johnson City, passed away on Monday, Oct. 1. Born Jan. 24, 1924 in Nacogdoches, Texas, Sheppard was the daughter of Clanton & Lerlie (Matlock) Nettles. She married Rayburn Sheppard on June 10, 1939, and they were the co-owners of the Thunderbird Lodge on Lake Buchanan for several years.
Sheppard was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Rosie and Hardin Wunderlich of Johnson City; son and daughter-in-law Tom and Tommie Sheppard of Magnolia, Texas; grandchildren Lisa Maynard and husband Mark, Karen Jones and husband Dan, Brandon Sheppard, Mandie Hill and husband Jason; and great grandchildren Spencer Green, Lindsey Jones, Kadan Jones, Cassidy Reinke and Storie Sheppard.
The funeral service was held Thursday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m. at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home with Charles Waugh officiating. Interment will be Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Peebles Cemetery, in Livingston, Texas at 2 p.m..
