Kelly Anna Culpepper April 18, 1964 ~ Oct. 9, 2012
Kelly Anna Culpepper, 48, of Llano, passed away Oct. 9.
Kelly was born April 8, 1964 in Amarillo, to Ronnie and Sharon (Duncan) Ratliff. She married Dr. Michael Culpepper on Dec. 18, 1993 in Spring, Texas, where they lived before moving to Llano in 2004.
Kelly graduated from Amarillo High School. She attended Amarillo College and West Texas State
University in Canyon, Texas. She went on to receive her Registered Veterinary Technician license and worked for many years in several veterinary clinics in Amarillo and Spring, before she "retired” to become a stay at home mom. Kelly loved animals of all kinds and it wasn’t unusual to see several orphaned or injured animals in her house at any given time. She loved riding horses most of all. She was particularly passionate about genealogy and also enjoyed scrap-booking, arts and crafts, and spending time with her kids. Kelly didn’t know the meaning of the word "no” especially when someone asked for help. She agreed to coach a youth soccer team one year when asked, even though she knew very little about soccer. Her big heart and friendly nature will be missed most of all.
She is preceded in death by her father Ronnie and brother Dale J Ratliff of Amarillo. She is survived by husband Mike Culpepper DVM; and daughters Allison, Sarah and Kadie Culpepper of Llano; mother Sharon (Duncan) Ratliff of Canyon; mother and father-in-law Doyle and Pat Culpepper of Llano; and many uncles, aunts and cousins primarily in Amarillo.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday Oct. 20 at Memory Gardens in Amarillo. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made on behalf of Allie, Sarah and Kadie at Llano National Bank. Her family would like to thank all of the friends, coworkers, teachers and staff at Llano ISD for their support and prayers. Luke 23:43, Revelation 21:4.
