Betty Watkins, 92, of Kingsland, and previously of Burnet, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9. She was born Sept. 30, 1920 to Elizabeth Marie (Kohut) Brovec and Charles Brovec in Houston.
She married Tris Watkins on Nov. 1, 1941 in Conroe. Watkins was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, the Ladies Alter Society, SPJST Lodge of Houston, American Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hoover Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1985, and one brother. She is survived
by son Tris Watkins, Jr. and wife Nancy of Blackstock, S.C; daughters Andrea Westmoreland of Beeville, Texas, Gloria Haile and husband Jerry of Burnet, and Annie Baker of Dallas; grandchildren Charlie, Bobby, Justin, Josh, Terry and Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Kolbe,
Keegan, Kori, Brady, Grayson and Kaesen; one niece; and two nephews.
A Rosary will be held Thursday, Oct. 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the Waldrope Hatfield Hawthorne Funeral Home, Kingsland, followed by visitation 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. at Waldrope Hatfield Hawthorne Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Vandventer officiating, with burial to follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family expresses their deepest appreciation for the loving care that was shown to our Mother by the entire staff from the Llano Hospital.
