Mary Barron Sept. 21, 1921 ~ Oct. 19, 2012October 11, 2012, 9:05 am by Staff Reports Mary and Dalbert are back together again. He returned to his Heavenly Father on Jan. 30, 2002 and has been patiently waiting since then. We often spoke of this and Mom would laugh nicely as we all knew he was not the most patient person! She was born in Jones County, Texas on Sept. 21, 1921. She grew up on a farm, learned to work hard from her parents, Roscoe and Cornelia Greenway. She was very proud of the fact that she and her sister Carolyn could do anything better than her three brothers, except pick cotton where her brother Whit was the star. Mary and Dalbert were married on June 28, 1942 during the first part of World War II. He served his country and she waited on the farm for his return. Upon his return, they moved to Borger, Texas, where they raised three boys, Bert, Royce and Joe. After the boys were in school, she returned to college, earned her teaching degree, and began teaching. She was most proud of the fact that all her family, including Dalbert, earned college degrees. Mary and Dalbert retired beside peaceful Lake LBJ in Granite Shoals, and lived there until Dalbert passed away. She left this life on Oct. 19, to return to her Heavenly Father and Dalbert. At the time she was living in Spanish Fork, Utah with her son and his wife. Mary enjoyed 91 years surrounded by family and friends. Her son Joe passed away March 2, 1990. Mary is survived by sons Bert and wife Christy of Dallas, and Royce and wife Cookie of Spanish Fork, Utah; and grandchildren: Joe, Randy, Daniel and Gina. Funeral service will be at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home of Marble Falls on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park, Burnet, right next to Dalbert and Joe. Condolences may be offered at www.clementswilcoxfuneralhome.com. |
