She was born to Merrill and Florence Crouse on May 26, 1940 in Buckley, Ill. Klotz graduated from Lincoln Way High School in New Lenox, Ill., in 1958, followed by nurses training at the Silver Cross School of Nursing in Joliet, Ill., in 1961, and the Joliet Junior College School of Nursing.
She worked in various Chicago land hospitals before moving to Texas in 1980, where she then
served as Director of Nursing at the Northwood Heath Care in Marble Falls, the Llano Memorial Hospital and the Care Inn in Llano for 25 years. She also served as the Public Health Officer for the City of Granite Shoals.
She married Bruno F. Klotzd on Dec. 12, 1964. She loved to cook, bake, garden, raise dogs, dance to Elvis Presley music, and watch NASCAR (her favorite driver was Jeff Gordon).
She is survived by her husband of 48 years; sons Quenten Klotz and wife Lee Irwin Klotz of Granite Shoals, and Derrick Klotz and wife Shannon Thompson Klotz of Kingsland; daughter Colleen Klotz and her fiancé Roy Fowler of Granite Shoals; grandchildren Sawyer, Brandon, Keslee, Skylar, Alexis, Kensie, Jacob, and Makenzie; sisters Paulette Wilda (Joseph) of Mokena, Ill., and Merrilee Gallagher of Ft. Meyers, Fl.; brother-in-law Richard Gallagher of Manhattan, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Klotz is preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. at Putnam Funeral Home in Kingsland. An online registry can be found at www.PutnamCares.com.
