Beola Kirby Rector passed away Dec. 19, in Kerrville.
She was born March 30, 1912 in Westminister, Texas to Jesse Marvin and Effie Hunter Kirby. She led a good live of 100 years and 8 months.
Her father died in 1922 and her mother moved the family back to the Hunter farm in Colorado City, Texas where she graduated from high school in 1929.
She attended Cisco Junior college on a basketball scholarship, and taught school in Dunn, Texas.
She married John B. Rector on Oct. 2,1932 and they lived in Colorado City from 1933 to 1943.
They moved to Cactus, Texas in 1943 where John worked until his retirement. They moved to Marble Falls in 1977 and she moved to Kerrville in 2007. A life long Methodist, she was active in church programs, singing in the choir for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John Rector; grandsons John Benjamin Rector and John Paul Rector; brothers Edmund Kirby, Hobby Kirby, J.M. Kirby and Wallace Kirby; and daughters-in-law Doris Rector, Kay Rector and Pauline Rector.
She is survived by children Ben Rector and wife Jackie of Denton, James Rector and wife Carol of Sugarland, Ken Rector and wife Rita of Spring Branch, Dick Rector and wife Karen of Kerrville, Mary Ruth Burk and her husband Mike of De Leon, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and many loving great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Grave side services for the family will be held in Marble Falls city cemetery, Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 22 and will be officiated by her nephew, Dr. James Kirby of Dallas. Donations in lieu
