Chistley Jenkins Jan. 13, 1931 ~ Dec. 18, 2012December 07, 2012, 9:06 am by Staff Reports Chistley Jenkins, 81, of Kingsland, passed away Dec. 18. He was born to Retus and Lela (Podgett) Jenkins on Jan. 13, 1931 in Tahoka, Texas. Jenkins proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge he worked in the natural gas field. He moved to Highland Haven and served on the city council. In his spare time he enjoyed arts and crafts, woodworking, fishing, boating and especially traveling with his R.V. Chistley is survived by children Ronald Craig Jenkins of Wortham, Texas, Darla Gail Simpson of Lubbock, and Brent Lee Jenkins of Kingsland; grandchildren Robert Sterling Simpson, Spencer Cade Simpson, Andrew Craig Jenkins and Abigail Rose Jenkins; brothers Jessie Ray, Robert and Dan Riley Jenkins; sister Irene Kinemer; and the mother of his children, Bobby Joy Jenkins of Lubbock. Graveside services were held at the Wolf Crossing Cemetery, RR 1431 in Highland Haven on Thursday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Garry Syperda officiating.
