Charles Lee Owens, 70, a lifetime resident of Llano, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23. He was born May 9, 1942 to Quinnie Mae (Wimberly) Owens and Leroy Owens in Llano. Owens was a veteran of the United States Navy. He married Donna Tabor on April 4, 2003 and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by wife Donna Owens of Llano; daughter Tina Sue Arms and husband Michael; sons James Owens and wife Tracy, and Royce Owens and wife Brittany all of Llano; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 28 from 6-8 p.m. at the Waldrope Hatfield Hawthorne Funeral Home in Llano. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Dec. 29 at 11 a.m. at the Llano City Cemetery with Reverend Jerald Moore officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Wooten, Rod Decker, Pete Smith, Sonny Ross, Leslie Wayne, Stevie Mansell, Cooper Owens, Billy Dan Hackworth and Eddie Overstreet.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 406 W. 34th Street, Kansas City, MO 64111.
