Mallie Lou Crawford April 2, 1921 ~ Dec. 28, 2012

Mallie Lou (Bull) Shannon Crawford, 91, of Bryan and formerly of Llano, passed from this life on
Friday, Dec. 28, 2012. Services were held 1:30 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 31, with visitation from 12 p.m., in the chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home with
Rev. Ronnie Lunsford officiating. Burial will follow in the Steep Hollow Cemetery. Crawford was born April 2, 1921 in Brown County, Texas to Malta Willis and Lessie D. (Conklin) Bull. She was valedictorian of Buffalo High School in 1938 and a proud member of their State Championship basketball team.
She is preceded in death by her parents; first and second husbands Carl J. Shannon, Sr. and James A. Crawford; four brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include brothers Kenneth W. Bull of Brady and Melvin W. Bull of Eldorado; sons Carl Jr. and wife Janice Shannon of Llano, Murray K. and wife Pamela Shannon of Bryan, and William "Bill” and wife Robin Crawford of Bryan; grandsons Kevin L. and wife Roxanna Shannon of Calgary, Alberta, Lance C. and wife Erin Shannon of Katy, and William C. and wife JaeCee Crawford of Bryan; granddaughters Stephanie A. and husband Harold Liles of Dallas, and Lessa R. Crawford of Bryan; great-grandsons Stefan C. Shannon and Alexander L. Shannon; great granddaughters Megan B. Liles and Shelbi A. Liles; and numerous nephews, nieces, and faithful friends.
Crawford was a skilled craftsman and accomplished artist, and worked as a cosmetologist for over 52 years. She owned and operated shops in Bangs, Christoval, and Llano, and served as an instructor at Charles & Sue’s School of Hair Design in Bryan.
At 65 years young she opened and operated "Ms. Mallie & Company” in Bryan until her retirement at age 82.
Crawford was instrumental in the foundation of, and took great pride in, the Llano County Special Opportunity School. She was named Llano County Citizen of the Year in 1976.
