Ed Niel Collins March 9, 1935 ~ Jan. 12, 2013January 04, 2013, 9:00 am by Staff Reports
Collins is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan Julia Newman Collins; daughter Karen Lynn Gilbert; son-inlaw Bradley Scott; grandchildren Ryan Scott and Kelli Larkin; daughter Traci Diann Frasier; son-in-law Richmond Henry; grandchildren Megan Nicole Steward, Conor Collin Steward, and Lillian Rose; brother Donald Gene; sister-in-law Billie; brother John David; sister in-law Devon; sister-in-law Katherine; their families; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and brother Richard "Dick.” Collins grew up in the Bertram and Joppa community and served time in the Air Force. After meeting the love of his life, the couple moved to Houston where they raised their two "favorite” girls. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration as a Radar Technician and moved to Marble Falls to enjoy his retirement working on his land, raising goats, gardening, and most of all loving his family. With his radiant smile and kind and generous heart, he was loved by all and he loved all. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 11 a.m., at the Marble Falls Church of Christ, 711 Broadway. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to your favorite charity or the Marble Falls Church of Christ. We would like to personally thank our amazing family and friends for the love and support they have showered us with during his illness. We would also like to thank the wonderful staff at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, Odyssey Hospice, and Granite Mesa Health Center for the kindness and care they gave him. The Marble Falls Church of Christ family will forever have a special place in our hearts for the kindness they have bestowed upon us. Condolences may be offered to www.clementswilcoxfuneralhome.com. Arrangements made by Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls. |
