Community dons green to support ‘Journey’

 More than 200 people, including Burnet school students and staff and local law enforcement and government officials, gathered and donned green tee shirts Wednesday night in support of a program designed to help the community’s young people who are tempted by or have become involved in illegal drug use.

Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Nothern Burnet County

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Northern Burnet County until 3:45 PM as well as a significant weather advisory for Northern Burnet and Northeastern Llano counties until 3:30PM.

National Weather Service Meteorologists say that a thunderstorm is rapidly developing five miles northwest of Buchanan Dam and is moving northeast at 35 MPH. Hail, high winds and heavy rain are expected with this storm.

Sen. Fraser’s water bill up to Gov. Perry

ESD seeks funds for rainwater collection

Central Texas Groundwater Conservation District directors were asked Friday to help pay for a rainwater collection system for the Oakalla and Briggs communities even though they are part of an Emergency Services District that has received more than $312,000 in tax revenues the past three years.
