Dawgs fall to Rockdale, 24-17

The Burnet Bulldogs came up just shy of the Rockdale Tigers Friday night.

Despite Burnet’s gritty effort the much larger Tiger squad squeaked out a 24-17 victory. The Dawgs took an early 3-0 lead on a 34-yard Austin Huff field goal. Rockdale answered with a 40-yard field goal just three plays into the second quarter which knotted the game at three all.

Dawgs open with exciting win, 26-20

The Bulldogs opened their 2012 season on Friday night by hosting the Fredericksburg Battlin’ Billies. Burnet jumped out to a big 20-0 lead with three first half touchdowns. The Dawgs first score came on the opening drive of the game. On a first and goal from the 1-yard line Burnet junior QB Derek Kiser dove into the end zone. Austin Huff booted the PAT and with 8:44 remaining in the first Burnet was up 7-0 and that’s how the first quarter ended.
