The Burnet City Council adopted a series of updated planning and zoning codes during its Tuesday meeting in the Council Chambers at Burnet Municipal Airport.
The codes, most of which were almost 10 years old, deal with the city’s building safety, energy usage and property maintenance policies. The council passed 10 code ordinances in all on Tuesday.
Council member Bill Flynn said he met with Betsy Engelbrecht, director of the Herman Brown Free Library, recently and that copies of the old codes will be stored in the library for citizens to peruse at their convenience.
Specifically, the codes that were updated are: the life safety code, the international energy conservation code, the international existing building code, the international fire code, the international fuel gas code, the international building code, the international residential code for one- and two-story family dwellings, the international mechanical code, the international plumbing code and he international property maintenance code.
