The Horseshoe Bay City Council on Tuesday held its first public meeting with its newest member, Alderman Phillip A. Lee.

Lee was elected unopposed in November, replacing Alderman John Bird. Mayor Bob Lambert and Alderwoman Claudia Haydon were re-elected in November as well.

The officials took an oath of office before the Nov. 18 meeting and gathered for a picture.

The five-member council comprises: Jim Babcock (Mayor Pro Tem), Steve Spence, Claudia Haydon, Jeff Robinson, and Lee. The members are elected to two-year terms.

Afterward, Police Chief Bill Lane proudly introduced another new face to the city: investigator Rocky Wardlow.

Wardlow, a retired Texas Ranger, joins the police department after 30 years of public service, Lane said.

“He’s highly qualified,” Lane told the council. “(And) brings a wide variety of talent and skill.”

The council had previously approved a motion to hire an additional investigator to the department.
