On Feb. 26, the community came together for an evening of fun and generosity at the nonprofit Bunco for Babies fundraiser.

Organized by Aaris Farmer, this event served as a meaningful way to raise awareness and support for YoungLives, a ministry dedicated to walking alongside teen parents and pointing them to Jesus.

“Bunco for Babies is a fun fundraiser to bring awareness of our teen parent ministry,” said Farmer. “We raise awareness and funds to support our YoungLives ministry so that we can lock arms and do life with teen parents as we point them to Jesus along the way.”

With 23 teen moms, 24 babies (soon to be 27), and a dedicated group of 13-15 dads regularly participating, Young-Lives provides essential resources and a loving community for these young families.

One of the highlights of the evening was hearing from guest speaker Alina Insco, a teen mom of two, who shared her powerful testimony about how YoungLives has impacted her life. “Young-Lives has shown me that I am loved, cared for, and not alone,” Alina shared. “I don’t have to be perfect or pray perfect prayers for Jesus to love me.”

She also expressed her gratitude for the ministry’s tangible support, including receiving her first Bible and assistance during a difficult time when her boyfriend lost his job and they were in need of food, diapers, and formula.

Adding to the excitement of the evening, a unique house rule made the game even more fun—when a lady rolled a Bunco, she had to get up and claim a pink bra or pink feather boa from another player who had previously rolled a Bunco. This playful tradition kept the energy high and the laughter flowing throughout the night.

The event was made even more special thanks to the generosity of local businesses and supporters. Bubbles and Boards provided delicious catering, while Perissos Winery donated 90% of their wine sales back to the cause. Wagon Springs graciously donated the venue, helping to make the night a success.

The atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and gratitude as attendees played Bunco, shared stories, and contributed to the ministry’s ongoing work.

“It was an amazing night and very successful. We are so thankful for all the donations and everyone who showed up to support our ministry and our teen parents,” said Farmer. “We are excited to continue to grow this fundraiser so we can continue to raise awareness. I want to give God all the glory for every dollar raised, to every donation given, to every person’s heart that was touched that night. Thank you, Jesus.”

With the overwhelming support from the community, Bunco for Babies continues to make a lasting impact, providing young parents with the love, resources, and encouragement they need to thrive.
