Lady Dawgs sending three lifters to state

On Friday nine Lady Dawg lifters traveled to Dublin to compete in the THSWPA Region II 4A Large School powerlifting meet. As a team Burnet combined to finished fourth overall with 20 points. Alvarado won the meet with 60 points followed by Lampasas, second, 48; Taylor, third, 30; Burnet, fourth, 20; Stephenville, fifth, 18; Brownwood, sixth, nine; Fredericksburg, seventh; six; and Marble Falls, eighth, two points.

On Friday nine Lady Dawg lifters traveled to Dublin to compete in the THSWPA Region II 4A Large School powerlifting meet. As a team Burnet combined to finished fourth overall with 20 points. Alvarado won the meet with 60 points followed by Lampasas, second, 48; Taylor, third, 30; Burnet, fourth, 20; Stephenville, fifth, 18; Brownwood, sixth, nine; Fredericksburg, seventh; six; and Marble Falls, eighth, two points.

Individually three lifters punched their ticket to state. Lily Rygaard finished first in her class for a ticket while Josie Teague and Madeline Cardenas each took second to join her at state.

In the 114 weight class Kamilya Nobles placed sixth at regionals. She totaled 390 after a 140 squat, 75 bench, and 175 deadlift. Olivia Cook also competed in the 114 but was unable to post a total.
