Last week three Lady Dawg lifters traveled to Edinburg to compete in the 4A Division I State Women’s Powerlifting Championships. The three lifters including, Josie Teague, Lily Rygaard, and Madeline Cardenas took their seasons as far as they could go ending their 2025 campaigns on the state stage.
Teague lifted in the 123 class and finished 13 overall at state. She squatted 315, benched 160, and pulled 270 for a total of 745 pounds.
Rygaard competed on the 132 platform and finished seventh at state for her efforts. She started the day with a 290 pound squat, followed by a 170 bench, and 255 pound deadlift for a final state total of 715.
