A groundbreaking ceremony March 26 marked the construction of Towne-Place Suites by Marriott in Burnet.

City officials, business leaders, and community members gathered for a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, March 26, to celebrate the start of construction for Towne-Place Suites by Marriott in Burnet.

The event, held at 1750 Cary Johnson Parkway, represents a new hospitality option in the area as well as more hotel/motel tax funds for the city.

Officials say that thanks to TEKMAK Development Company and ARK Hospitality and Development, the addition of TownePlace Suits not only enhances Burnet’s lodging options but also supports local tourism and economic growth.

Currently, visitors will notice signs of trenching and installing electrical conduit to support the development of the new hotel just off U.S. 281 South, ensuring the necessary infrastructure is in place for this highly anticipated project.

Scheduled to open in the fall of 2026, the hotel will showcase Marriott’s signature modern amenities and a design that harmonizes with the local landscape.
