An 18-year-old Kingsland man faces a manslaughter charge after he was accused of beating another man to death at a residence.

According to the Llano County Sheriff's office, the incident unfolded at 11:19 p.m. July 14 in the 100 block of Mesquite Dr.

Authorities say a fight broke out by at least two groups of people. David Michael Justus, 20, of Lakeway died after a number of days in the hospital.

“There was a

fight and the vic tim was knocked unconscious and transported to the Marble Falls

hospital, and they flew him from there to a hospital in Temple,” Llano County Sheriff’s Capt. Brad Evans told the Bulletin.

“We’ve interviewed 12 people in the last few days,” Evans said. “Several of them don’t live here (in Llano County).”

On July 23, Justus was pronounced dead at the hospital. On July 24, Llano County deputies charged Francisco Reyes with manslaughter.

“It was multiple people (involved in the fight),” Evans added. “I don’t think the suspect we arrested knew (the victim).

“It’s still an ongoing investigation.”

Reyes was released from the Llano County Jail July 24 on a conditional bond totaling $75,000.
