At its April 22 meeting, the Burnet City Council reviewed the city’s financial report for the fiscal year-to-date ending March 31, and the news is good. The city’s financial position remains strong, with most funds performing at or above budget expectations. The General Fund ended the period with a $2.7 million surplus, driven by strong property tax collections (94% of the annual budget) and a 10% year-over-year increase in sales tax revenue.
