Just as residents began picking up the pieces from a storm May 1, torrential rain swept through Burnet County May 5 and 6, dumping several inches onto the area.
Despite the recent thunderstorm, the bulk of reported damage came from the early weather event, officials described.
“On May 1, 2025, Burnet County experienced a tornado that caused major damage to two homes and minor damage to 12 other homes. Multiple outbuildings were damaged or destroyed as well,” said Burnet County Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Derek Marchio in a statement. “Only one injury was reported from the driver who was transported to the hospital yesterday (May 1).”
