Area peace officers and supporters are sharing their condolences, following the death of a former Burnet County sheriff and longtime lawman.
Officials announced May 5, that William T. (W.T.) Smith has passed away.
“Burnet County will lower flags to half staff this week in honor of former Burnet County Sheriff W.T. Smith,” according to a statement from Burnet County. “Our hearts go out to Sheriff Smith’s Family.”
