All Burnet incumbents win council re-election

Burnet voters re-elected four incumbents for another city council term during the recent general election, according to Burnet County Elections Administration. The May 3 election offered three candidates for mayor and four candidates for council seats.

The May 3 election offered three candidates for mayor and four candidates for council seats.

Incumbent mayor Gary Wideman was re-elected.

Out of 312 total votes cast during the mayoral election, Wideman received 174 votes, a little more than 55%; challenger Anthony Francisco received 125 votes, a little more than 40%; and challenger Cliff Hirneisen, 13 votes, a little more than 4%.

During the race for three open council seats among four candidates, the majority of 645 voters re-elected incumbent council members Tres Clinton, Rick- ey Langley and Joyce Laudenschlager.

Clinton received 196 votes at a little more than 30%, Laudenschlager received 179 votes at more than 27% and Langley received 156 votes at a little more than 24%.

Also during the race for council, lone challenger Dennis Langley received 114 votes at a little more than 17%.
